Cement is suitable for fixing fence post bases into the ground, as well as gate posts and general garden concreting work like patios and steps.
Normally mixed in a 6:1 ratio, meaning that for every 4 or 5 bags of ballast you should buy one 25kg bag of cement. For example, one fence post hole needs on average a 3/4 bag of ballast for an optimal concrete mixture. This will of course differ depending on the size of your fence build job and how many fence posts you need to concrete in.
