Silky Hayauchi Pole Saw 390mm 5.5tpi
The Silky Hayauchi is a professional-quality telescoping pole saw trusted by arborists, foresters, and home users for high pruning work from the ground. Featuring oval-section aluminium alloy poles, a dual locking extension system, and a 390mm curved blade with Silky's 4-RETSUME tooth technology, it delivers precise, powerful cutting at height with excellent control and rigidity. Available in 3.7m and 6.3m maximum reach via the dropdown menu above.
The Hayauchi's oval-shaped aluminium alloy poles provide a level of directional control over the blade that round poles cannot match — particularly valuable when positioning the saw accurately at height. The oval profile also adds structural rigidity and minimises flex under load, so effort applied at the handle transfers efficiently to the blade across the full extension length. As a general guide, the 3.7m reach is well suited to typical garden and orchard pruning, while the 6.3m reach is the preferred choice for taller trees and professional arboricultural work where maximum range from the ground is needed.
Two locking systems work in tandem to secure the extended poles: spring-loaded locking buttons serve as the primary mechanism, while friction clamps provide secondary support. Together they ensure the pole remains completely stable and rigid at any set length, with no movement or slippage during the cut.
The 390mm curved blade uses Silky's 4-RETSUME technology, in which teeth are configured to replicate the effect of four rows for an aggressive, fast-cutting action suited to hardwood and demanding pruning work. The blade adjusts to two angles to suit lower or higher cutting positions without the operator needing to reposition. Two integrated sickle features enhance both safety and cut quality: the lower sickle undercuts bark cleanly before the main stroke and can be used to remove epicormic growth without damaging the tree, while the upper sickle prevents the blade from slipping off rounded branch surfaces and is also used for cutting vines. Blades can be re-sharpened with a feather-edged file, and all parts are individually replaceable, extending the working life of the tool considerably.
A rigid black plastic blade guard is included for safe transport and storage, and the base pole features a shock-absorbing end cap to protect the pole when rested on the ground. The Hayauchi is also compatible with the Sintung Lopper attachment — simply remove the blade head and replace it to convert the pole saw into a pole lopper without additional equipment.
