When folded for transport, the total length reduces further to 158cm.

Powered by a 36V lithium-ion battery from the STIHL AP System, inserted directly into the engine housing for improved balance and mobility, the HLA 140 K benefits from both Constant Power and Power Boost technologies. Constant Power ensures cutting performance remains consistent throughout the full battery discharge, while Power Boost allows the tool and battery to communicate intelligently — automatically delivering maximum available power for the application and adjusting output during intensive use to protect battery longevity. With the recommended AP 30 battery, working time reaches up to 125 minutes on a full charge.

The EC motor drives the blades to a maximum of 4,000 rpm across three selectable speed settings — 3,200, 3,600, and 4,000 rpm — adjustable via the ergonomic handle without interrupting work. Lower speed settings help extend battery runtime when full power is not required. The lightweight magnesium transmission reduces overall tool weight without sacrificing durability, important for professionals working for extended periods throughout the day.

The 60cm double-sided blades are laser-cut and diamond-ground for long-lasting sharpness, and friction-optimised to move through foliage efficiently with reduced energy draw.
